Lake Avenue Church (LAC) is located in the thriving city of Pasadena, California and has a more than 128-year history of ministering to diverse populations, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the greater L.A. area and world. For many years it has done this, in part, by engaging in partnerships with Fuller Theological Seminary, Azusa Pacific University and Biola University, along with various community organizations (ex., Door of Hope, Obria Medical Clinics, Hoving Home). It has a formal membership of 2500 congregants with English and Spanish speaking services, multiple adult fellowships and family ministries for children and adolescents, up through high school in age. JOB POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The APCL will function as a shepherd to foster the growth of spiritual health within the congregation, across generations. They will oversee the organization of a variety of ministries through team building, mentoring, preaching, and teaching. LOCATION DETAILS:
Lake Avenue Church is located in the heart of the City of Pasadena, 11 miles from downtown Los Angeles, with a Metro rail stop just yards away from her doors. Pasadena is a mecca for tourists as it plays host to the world on New Years Day due to the famed Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl Game. The city is a one-to-two-hour drive from beach and mountain resorts and boasts multiple entertainment offerings through world class restaurants and prestigious museums such as the Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens and the Norton Simon Museum. It has its own public school system but also boasts a number of private educational institutions within city limits. It is also home to Pasadena City College, top ranked amongst junior colleges in the U.S., and within walking distance of Fuller Theological Seminary.

Nursery Caregiver
Nursery Caregiver
Lake Avenue Church is currently seeking part-time Nursery Caregivers in our Early Childhood Ministries. This is a ministry position providingcare andleadership for the nursery program during worship services and special events. At this time,our caregiver team workson an as needed basis,predominantly on the weekends, with some hours during weekdays, some holidays and special ministry events.
Individuals best suited for this position will possess the following qualifications:
- A deep love for early childhood aged children and a heart for working in our nurseries.
- Exemplary life of wholehearted devotion to Jesus Christ.
- Ability to create and maintain a safe environment for children.
- Ability to promote harmonious working relationships with staff, volunteers, and parents.
- Knowledge of and experience in early childhood development (birth-5 years) is a plus.
- Responsibilities include,but are not limited to, playing with children, praying with them, facilitating snack time, and general interaction with toddlers and parents

Counseling Center Coordinator
Counseling Center Coordinator
Lake Avenue Church seeks to add a compassionate, organized, self-motivated and fun person to our Counseling Center team. We're looking for someone who loves Jesus, has a heart for providing compassionate counseling, and an ability to mentor others. We're looking for an individual who can lead well, serve well, and committo the mission and values of the Lake Ave Counseling Center.

- Ability to equip and empower others to do the work of ministry and a passion for helping lead people into a life of discipleship and growth in Christ.
- Experience working with and leading people from diverse racial, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Strong character with good judgment; exceptional interpersonal relational skills; ability to work independently and alongside the staff team.
- The spiritual gift-mix of discernment, exhortation, mercy and leadership.
- Have a heart for ministry and agreement with Lake Avenue Church Statement of Faith.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate the administrative tasks and projects for counseling team members
- Manage the LAC Counseling software and accounts (Website, Google Sheets)
- Set up regular meetings, as needed, with supervisor and counseling team members
- Collaborate with different ministries at LAC to build awareness of the counseling services available in the community
- Advertise, assist in interviewing and training MFT trainee/interns as well as counseling team members
- Maintain inventory of office supplies, snacks and water
- Maintenance of counseling session rooms and office
- Communicate regularly with counseling center team on updates, office news, events, or any other reminders
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides therequired knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typicalexample of this would be:
- Undergraduate degree in psychology or another related field
- Experience with advertising community events and coordinating administrative tasks and projects
This position is full-time (30 hours per week); located in the Lake Ave Counseling Center within the Administration & Finance Department of Lake Avenue Church; and reports to the Director of Counseling Ministries. This position is classified as non-exempt, includes benefits, and includes some evening and weekend hours. The pay range for this position is: $20.00-$25.00 per hour.
