The body of Christ, the Church, exists in a social landscape that has become increasingly polarized and outraged. Rather than mimicking a culture of tribalism, rage, and indifference, God calls every diverse church to seek unity through its distinct beliefs and practices. However, “unity” has almost become a cliché in evangelical culture because it has often been used as a call to smooth over differences in the Church without taking seriously the theology behind it. This three-part series explores the origin and break-up of unity, the call of God to seek unity in the Church, and some of the distinct practices that will help us grow more unified (amidst our differences) without compromising our core beliefs.
