The Coordinator of Operations for Young Families and Children’s Ministries supports Lake Avenue Church's mission and vision by coordinating ministry operations and providing support for children’s (infancy to 5th grade) weekly & annual programming, including VBS Coordination. The Coordinator will collaborate with staff and volunteers to help foster a vibrant, welcoming children’s ministries community.

We are looking for someone who is first faithful to the Gospel and is spiritually passionate. This position requires a highly organized, relationally engaging, and motivated individual. We seek someone to lead out of their passion for creative, relational, and welcoming ministry. With our congregation, it is critical to lead across spiritually, ethnically, socio-economically, and culturally diverse groups. Essential to this position are the following:

  • The Coordinator reports to the Interim Director of Care to Young Families and Children’s Ministries. They work alongside a team of coordinators and volunteers who assist in ministries from birth through 5th grade.
  • Update and maintain curriculum binders for Children’s Ministries
  • Oversee classroom supplies, ministry materials & snacks in partnership with Ministry coordinators
  • Facilitate and maintain the LAC Check-In System
  • Act as a Sunday Host to families and volunteers
  • Process and onboard volunteers, keeping up-to-date records for all legal requirements in partnership with the church Admin & Finance office
  • Work in collaboration with the children’s ministries team to plan, organize, and execute the annual VBS camp

There is no expectation that one would just come in and manage what is happening. However, we expect the coordinator to provide an operational vision and direction for engagement and growth that integrates with our ministry mission and values.

Qualifications include:

  • With a commitment to the mission and vision of Lake Avenue Church, the candidate must wholeheartedly agree with the ten articles of Lake Avenue Church Statement of Faith and the church’s positions on gender, human sexuality, and marriage.
  • At least three years of ministry experience, with 1-2 years working in children’s ministries (or related field) and working in an office environment at a nonprofit organization.
  • A Bible College degree is preferred
  • A collaborative spirit, able to work closely with church staff and ministry leaders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication.

The Community Engagement Coordinator supports Lake Avenue Church's mission and vision by shepherding, leading, and managing a ministry designed to welcome and integrate newcomers into our church family. The coordinator will recruit, train, and mentor volunteer teams as they cultivate a comprehensive hospitality ministry. The Coordinator will collaborate with staff and volunteers to help foster a vibrant, welcoming church community.

This position requires a highly organized, relationally engaging, and motivated individual. We seek someone to lead out of their passion for creative, relational, and welcoming ministry. With our congregation, it is critical to lead across spiritually, ethnically, socio-economically, and culturally diverse groups. Essential to this position are the following:

  • The Coordinator reports to the Associate Pastor of Congregational Life. They work alongside a team of directors and coordinators who oversee ministries from birth through adulthood.
  • The Coordinator oversees a large team of volunteers. They will care for, connect, and communicate well with teams for ushering, greeting, and hospitality roles.
  • The Coordinator collaborates with the Associate Pastor of Congregational Life to coordinate newcomer and membership classes, integrating attendees into church life.
  • The Coordinator’s responsibilities include managing the volunteer database, organizing training and appreciation events, and functioning as part of our pastoral/ministry team.
