Don't Take Life for Granted

I came to Jesus, through Pastor Swan—a Navy Chaplain in Vietnam. After saving the life of a fellow sailor, while under fire, I asked Chaplain Swan to pray for that sailor. Chaplain Swan said both of us can pray for him. Chaplain Swan said, "You are a prayer away to becoming a serious believer in Jesus." Even though you know Jesus, accept Jesus, with all your heart, confess your sins and mean it before your next mission. The Bible says, where two or more gather and pray, Jesus will hear our prayers.

I knew about Jesus before serving in the Navy, was going to church, listening to sermons, serving as an usher, etc. However, being shot at, wounded in battle a couple of different times, brought me to the reality how short life can be, and there is a huge reason why we need Jesus to guide us. After becoming a true believer, while on a mission, I was seriously wounded, during a rocket attack. I am certain, the Lord saved my life that day. Lesson learned, don't take life for granted, we do not know how long we have on earth. Only the Lord knows. From that point on in the war, to be honest, I am blessed to know with absolute certainty, that the Lord protected me in Vietnam.
