In our Lake Avenue Student Ministries this summer, our dedicated team of 15 students and seven parent volunteers are embarking on a mission trip to Belize, where we will unite with a local church to make a lasting impact but also to encounter the Lord in a space much different than our own.
For the past six months, our journey has been one of preparation and anticipation. We've not been raising funds but are building a cohesive team driven by compassion and a shared purpose. Together, we've cultivated skills, fostered friendships, and deepened our understanding of the power of community and our faith in Christ.
Our mission in Belize is twofold: first, we will contribute to a construction project at a local church, working to improve its needs whether it is painting, building a roof, pouring concrete; whatever it may hold, we are there to serve.
Second, we are thrilled to engage in children's ministry within the community. We will be holding a sort of VBS program in which we will get to bring Christ, develop a fellowship with the children there, and nurture young hearts.
This mission is more than just a trip. It is a testament to the strength of our community and the power of Christ that is at work around the world. As we prepare to depart, we carry with us not only tools and supplies but also the spirit of God that defines Lake Avenue Student Ministries. We are eager to forge meaningful connections, learn from our Belizean counterparts, and leave a lasting imprint on the lives we touch. Please join us as a church and pray for our journey to Belize (July 20-26).
