A significant cultural shift I’ve noticed is the growing awareness of mental and emotional well-being. Terms like “anxiety” and “depression” are now openly discussed across all age groups. As people of faith, we may wonder: how can I integrate mental health with my faith? What does the Bible say about emotional well-being? What WOULD Jesus do?
Emotionally Healthy Spirituality (EHS) is a course designed to answer these questions. By exploring scripture and reflecting on the lives of biblical figures, EHS helps us understand how these teachings apply to our current lives.
As a professional in the mental health field for 10 years, I’ve learned that deepening our relationship with God begins with knowing ourselves—honestly and humbly. How can
we be truthful with God if we aren’t honest with ourselves? Take a moment to reflect: How do you react when confronted? How do you cope with failure? How do you express frustration? And, do you know the difference between isolation and solitude?
Psalm 139:13-14 says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.” God designed us to experience emotions like fear and joy. EHS doesn’t teach us to make decisions based solely on emotions, but rather to discern how the Holy Spirit may be speaking to us through our thoughts and feelings.
If you’re ready to integrate faith and mental health on your journey with Jesus, we invite you to join the EHS course. It’s an opportunity to grow in both emotional and spiritual health.
